 The month of May started with morning shifts on Friday and Saturday.  After our shift on Saturday, we took a much-needed nap before we had to head to Declo to speak in their Stake Conference.  We had never been there before.  We counted about 20 of our temple workers in attendance.  It was fun to be with this stake and our talks went well.  This could be our last Stake Conference assignment.  Our time is getting short in this calling. 

On the 5th, Craig and Robbie came to town.  Lon, Craig, Kurt and Phil went golfing.  Judy, Connie and I went to lunch at McCallister's to celebrate Connie's birthday while Robbie worked on her school classes.  I felt bad to leave her alone but it's hard to get my sisters together, so we didn't dare cancel our lunch.  

The 6-10th was our big week so I didn't do much other than try to survive and Lon golfed most afternoons so he wouldn't fall asleep and could go to bed early and sleep.  The temple wasn't as full as it has been, but that is how it is in May.  There is so much going on with graduations, Mother's Day, state sports finals.  It's always a busy month for all.  

Mother's Day was very relaxing.  At church, the men brought pies, and they served the mothers pie during Relief Society.  That was a first for us.  Then we spent the afternoon visiting with our children as they called.  Ryanne even called.  It was fun to hear all about her new adventures in Tennessee.  

We headed to Boise on the 16th.  We were to go golfing with Craig and Robbie, but the weather was wet and windy and cold.  We headed to a simulator to play indoors.  After 5 holes, I had to stop and turn around and not watch anymore.  The screen was starting to make me dizzy, and I was afraid of having a vertigo attach.  Now we know, I cannot do the simulated golf game.  After lunch, we spent the evening watching Craig and Robbie's grandson compete in the track and field for UVU.

Saturday morning, we went to Shauna's memorial service in Caldwell.  Shauna is Jenny and Ralph Wolverton's daughter.  The service was very nice, held outside in Shauna's back yard, but the weather was rainy and cold.  We didn't stay to eat but got on the road for home.  Craig and Robbie had a granddaughter's piano recital to attend.

Jenny's eyesight is pretty much gone, and her hearing is very poor.  We are not sure that she knew who we were, but we are thankful we got to see her.  She is 93.  It rained the whole way home.  

Sunday morning, we headed to Rupert to attend the missionary farewell for Nadine and Karl Kleopfer. 

It was a great meeting.  The Kleopfers are headed to Australia.  They were Shift Coordinators on the Thursday PM shift.  We are excited for them and will miss them, as they will come home to the Burley Temple.

We got home, ate lunch and headed to Challis.  We arrived about 6pm and were treated to a fish dinner at the home of Ron and Jane Bloxham.

  The 4 of us played a game that evening called "Redneck Life".  It was very fun and even Lon enjoyed it and even won the game!  Monday morning, we went to the "Living Waters Resort" to scout out a place for our family reunion in 2026.  It was fun to find out that Ron had done a lot of the remodeling, building and repairs here for years.  It is a great place, and we have it reserved for our reunion.  Hopefully we can get a good number of our family to come.  Then we went golfing to try out the golf course.

As you can see, it was a bit chilly in Challis, but this course will work well for our reunion.

  We had a great time, ate lunch at the clubhouse and then headed home.  Successful weekend!

Lon and LaRon spent the week, whenever we were not at the temple, shopping for a gun and ammo.  Lon sold his rifle to Kip, so he has been enjoying shopping for a new one, only bigger.

Friday evening, we met Val and Charlotte Dille for dinner in Twin.  They were down for Memorial Day.  

We went to the temple on the 24th with Tracy, Sarah and Eisley.  We did baptisms and then went to eat at McCallister's. We are enjoying spending one evening a month with them at the temple and then dinner.

On Sunday the 25th, we attended the 12th Ward Sacrament meeting to hear Riya's farewell.  She is Kip and Tawnya's daughter and headed to Peru.  After Sacrament Meeting, Ethan asked Lon to please come and help him receive the Melquisedec Priesthood and be set apart as an Elder.  This young man has such a special spirit. What a wonderful opportunity to be part of this.

We got our parents, grandparents, John and Larry's graves decorated.

We finished the month off with one of our full weeks, in the temple every day.  And as usual, this month went by so fast.  Those are our highlights for the month, but of course, every day in the temple is a highlight.  We love the people we are able to serve with, those we are able to serve, and being served by so many.  This calling has truly been a blessing in our lives.  It will be a bittersweet day when we are released.
