May came and went so fast.  It is just kind of a blurr.  We spent most of our time on the rental that we rebuilt for Kip this month.  Kip asked us to have it done by June 1st so we both put in many hours, 170 in fact.  We had to install the complete bathroom, 4 new windows, bottom kitchen cupboards, removed the bay window and put in a wall instead, all the flooring, painted ceilings and cleaned walls. I didn't take too many photos when we started but it was really ugly and dirty.

the walls were so dirty that I had to wash them, paint them with a blocker and then paint them 2 times to cover up the scribbling.  It really turned out great.

Behind the frig used to be a bay window, it was broken so we took it out and put in a wall.

We put linoleum everywhere but the front room.  Hopefully that will be easier to keep clean.  We were both exhausted when we finished on the 26th.  We only golfed 8 times the whole month of May as our time was filled with this home.  We are so thankful to have it finished.

The highlight of the month was the marriage of Hannah and Jacob.

We went to Mindi's house on Friday the 21st to help get things ready for the wedding and reception.  We arrived about 4 and began bagging popcorn.

We put bags in the boxes, filled them with popcorn and tied them shut.  We had coconut/pina colada and cheddar/butter/caramel popcorn.  We prepared 350 bags for the reception.

It was a beautiful morning at the Bountiful Temple 

Then we went to a church out in South Jordan for a lunchen.  The kids had chosen Domino's pizza for lunch as that is where they met, both working at Domino's.

The reception was in the back yard of Jacob's Mom's house.  We went over early to help set up.  The afternoon/evening got a bit chilly, but no wind or rain so it was a success.

Lon and Shayla challenged Ryanne and Gideon to a game of Cornhole.  Even in a suit coat, Lon and Shayla defeated the kids.

It was a beautiful evening with lots of participants.  The kids served chocolate milk, water, glazed donuts and popcorn.  We helped get everything put away and brought back to the house.  It was a wonderful day and we were all tired.  We left for home after breakfast on Sunday morning.

This year we had 4 grandchildren graduate from High School.

Isaac Parker graduated in January and then attended a quarter on line at BYUI.  He is going on a mission to Tokyo, Japan in August.

Chandler graduated on the 29th from Filer High School.  He is starting classes at CSI in June.

Gideon graduated on the 27th.  He has joined the Navy and will leave in August.

Jaikka won't officially graduate until June 10th.  She is going to attend UCLA in September.

It is so hard to believe that they are this age.  They have all grown up into such amazing young adults.  They are loving and kind and hard working.  It will be fun to see just where the future takes them.

Mindi posted this on Mother's Day and it touched my heart.  I just have to include it here so that I can enjoy it forever.

Happy Mother's Day!  To the mom who paid for all my perms, made sure I knew how to cook, clean, swim, and play the piano.  To the mom who made sure I was able to go to every sports camp I wanted to and never missed any of my games (even during my bratty years when I didn't think I wanted her there), even though she does not like sports.  To the mom who held my babies and got up with them in the night and let me sleep when I visited and helped take care of my little ones and me when I was so sick during my last two pregnancies.  To the mom who drove thousands of miles or flew across the country (even though she hates flying) to spend Thanksgivings with my family when we lived far away.  To the mom who has done so much for me in my life.  THANK YOU! Lon and I went to the cemetery on Saturday the 29th to decorate our families graves.  Mom has been doing this for years so we have taken over now that she can't anymore.  We have 18 family members that we pay tribute to each Memorial Day by placing flowers on their graves.  As we were finishing up at my Dad's grave, we noticed a Thompson headstone that wasn't there last year.

We ordered our headstone months ago but were never informed that it was installed.  Lon decided to put some flowers there so that at least once we would have flowers😂

We used our stimulus money from the pandemic to purchase it.

Dad's grave.  It is fun to remember these special people as we put the flowers out.  We had trouble finding a couple of them, so hopefully we will be able to find them when we pick the flowers back up later this week.
