June has started with some fun activities. On the 7th we headed to Boise to spend the night with Craig and Robbie. We got there around 6 and enjoyed an evening of catching up. We went to the Ridge Crest Executive Golf Course on Tuesday morning and enjoyed playing golf together.

I thought that maybe Robbie and I would play cart golf so riding would be the fastest way but we didn't hit on the same side of the course. We are so spoiled to play here at 93 where most mornings we have the course to ourselves. So thankful that we don't live in the city. Boy has Meridian grown. New subdivisions everywhere. After golf, we stopped by Jenny and Ralph Wolvertons to visit.
Lon's aunt and uncle, she is Ester's half sister. Jenny is 90 and Ralph is 92. They moved to Boise to be closer to their children. This was the first time I can ever remember not having a dog in the house. Jenny just felt like they were getting too old to train another one after their dog died earlier this year.
We enjoyed lunch at Culver's with Craig and Robbie before heading for home.
On the 11th, Friday morning we went golfing and just as we finished we ran into my class reunion golf tournament just getting started. I get too nervous playing golf with anyone but family so we didn't sign up to play in it. I recognized a few but a couple of the classmates I didn't know and had to ask names. Johnny Ridgeway introduced himself with, "You don't remember but I was your partner as we walked down the aisle at graduation." And I don't remember!
We met at the Turf Club that evening for a dinner and program celebrating our 50+1 graduation. We were scheduled to have it last year but due to Covid-19 it was cancelled. So thankful that we didn't have to wear masks. It was difficult enough recognizing people without having masks on!

The reunion committee did an outstanding job. It was a fun evening with lots of memories to share. We met again on Saturday morning for breakfast, again at the Turf Club in Twin Falls. Some of us are starting to look like we are almost 70. A lot of bald or grey headed men instead of the dark wavy hair of yesterday. (did not recognize Brad Bluemer at all with no hair and a white beard!) A couple with canes and wrinkles and extra weight, but the sparkle was in everyone's eye because we were able to be together again.
Our temple has moved to Phase 3 which means that we can do temple work for our ancestors again. We have to go on line to schedule an appointment but it hasn't been too hard to get one because we can go anytime during the day. Brother Merle Zysett had cataract surgery so he can't drive so we have taken him and Barbara to the temple with us every Tuesday this month. It is so good to be in the temple again. It just feels like we are home!
The Zysett's decided to get new carpet throughout their house so we spent a week helping them get ready and putting things back in place. Barbara is legally blind so we had to go through things one by one to decide what she wanted to keep and what to throw away and what to give away. We delivered over 400 books to the Jackpot Library for her! It was a great way to "spring" clean.
On the 17th, we had three students for our EnglishConnect Class.
Lon and Nancy, Leonal, Anna, Sister Bonilla's last week on her mission, Olivia and Sister Orlando.
Summer working hours have really reduced our numbers. Those working construction work from sun up to sun down and those working in farming are doing the same. Our classes range from no one coming to usually only one, but we are always there in case someone comes. Anna is so cute. She has only been coming for 3 weeks. She has no front teeth so her pronunciation is very sketchy, English or Spanish. We haven't gotten her to think in English yet and have to remind her to respond in English. We only have 4 lessons left and will finish the book. Then we will start over. We hope that a few of our former students will be able to return this winter. We really enjoy this calling.

Shayla and Mindi came to town on the 19th to golf with their Dad for Father's Day. It is always a treat when the kids come and we get to do something with them. Mindi took us out to Culver's for lunch after and then headed for home. Shayla and Justin had a tee off time in Buhl so had to go.
June has been very hot and dry here. We are in a drought so having temps in the 90's all month haven't helped. We try to do our golfing at 7:30 am to beat the heat.

On the 23rd, Lon and LaRon Thompson (Lon's cousin) took a 4-wheeling trip to Willow Creek which is north of Fairfield.
LaRon unloading his 4-wheeler. We are still driving one of Toni's trucks. Our truck has been in his shop for a year and a half now. This is the 3rd truck of Toni's that we have driven as we wait for ours to get repaired.😞

Linda and Mick came down to visit Mom. They were on their way home after cutting her hair and I arrived to go to the Hawaiian Luau with her. 
Serenity tie died shirts and had a picnic of BBQ beef and fried chicken with water balloons to throw. They had a dunk tank and the employees were willing to be dunked by the residents. Most of the residents couldn't throw hard enough to actually dunk anyone so a couple of them just wheeled their chairs close enough to push the lever with their hands. This was the first time Mom has been outside since last summer. We are supposed to still wear our masks inside the facility. We usually remove them inside Mom's room. We are only supposed to have 2 at a time visit, but no one stopped me so we had three for 10 minutes. Mother was having a very good day and enjoyed getting out for an hour. Some days she just sleeps when we visit. She is not walking anymore but will use the bike for exercise sometimes. She often has trouble just getting out of her recliner and into her wheel chair.
