And I turned around and this is the Stake Center that houses 2 more wards. There is even room to expand if necessary. However the wards here are very small with lots of inactivity. The missionaries have their hands full trying to visit the members and get them reactivated. The Potters have been assigned to serve here in one of the wards to help in this work. It is a long drive to attend anything for them though. I didn't get to play the piano here because it was broken.
The Potters' came over Sunday evening for some pie and ice cream. Elder Thompson made a raspberry/blackberry pie. We can't call it razzleberry because we didn't put the blueberries in but it was very good.
Monday morning we met with half of the mission to review the new Missionary Handbook and discover the differences. For Senior Couples there are no changes but for the young missionaries there are a few very significant ones. I, of course, immediately looked for the references to keeping their homes clean and orderly and found them!! It is part of their calling as a missionary! Now to just get them all on board.
We inspected 2 houses that have been vacated for now because of 2 Hermana's leaving. We were horrified at how they were left. We called the companions that were still here and asked them to return and make the homes presentable for someone else to move into. We are pleased to report that they are now ready. We found out that the North Mission hires someone to clean the pensiones whenever someone moves out. We think the missionaries need to be accountable for the messes they make and they really can clean when they are compelled to do so. Very happy with these Hermana's for their time and effort in these pensiones.

Tuesday was a very busy day in the temple as a group from Antafogasta came. They will be here all week so the temple will be full each day.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday were spent with service calls and inspections of houses that we have had painted. We want to make sure the contractors did a good job before we assign them to paint another one. We were on the road every day and we testify that we are being guarded by angels. We are so thankful for the prayers in behalf of missionaries. We feel the power of those prayers in our behalf, especially in the streets of this city.

It is always an adventure driving here. We are enjoying the warm weather and flowers.
We met up with the Potters on Saturday afternoon to do some shopping. There is a store here that brings down items from Costco. We went there once with the Hughes and were not really impressed because they didn't have much and it was very expensive. The Potters wanted to go there today so we went along. The shelves were really filled this time and we did find a few treasures that we have missed. We found our favorite cereal, Honey Bunches of Oats! We found for the first time since we arrived Cream of Mushroom soup and Cream of Chicken soup. Funeral Potatoes are now on the menu!
We ended up at our favorite Italian Restaurant. Loved that the waiter ended up in the foto through the mirror. It was a very relaxing afternoon.
