How to describe our Sunday, the 31st? WOW! We attended church in the Alvaro Casanova Ward in La Reina. The missionaries presented the Capilla Abierta program to the ward counsel and then to the ward right after. This ward is more well to do than most we have been in. The Elders came up with 23 referrals after the meeting. Then we headed to El Valle for their Capilla Abierta.
This was an amazing event. The ward was there in force. They even went into the streets to greet people and invite them into the chapel. We ended up with 28 non-members attending. We had 14 recorridos (tours) in the two hours. There never was a lull. We were all on our feet for the 2 hours. It was the best Capilla Abierta that we have had yet.

These young missionaries did a wonderful job. They ended up with 63 referrals. They will be busy for a while and they have another Capilla Abierta in this Zone on the 20th of April!

We got home about 9, totally exhausted!
Monday morning we met with contractors at the 2 new apartments to line them out with what we need done before the missionaries move into them.
We spent Tuesday in the office doing paperwork and cleaning the office. Wednesday we headed out at 9:30 to do 5 service calls. We only had about 10 minutes of work in each pension but because of the traffic and distance between each visit we didn't get back to the office till after 2. Wazes took us on two different freeways that we had not been on before and the traffic was horrible. I was a nervous wreck by the time we got back. We even found MORE tunnels that we had to go through. But it was worth it as we were greeted with smiles and gratitude as we served the missionaries.

TEMPLE DAY!
We haven't been to the temple for 3 weeks! It was wonderful to be able to attend the temple on Thursday morning. It was really hard to walk out of the temple doors. We have got to get there more often. This mission calling has more stress than any calling we have ever had. We need the peace of the temple to keep us from going crazy.
Lon went with Elder Hughes Friday morning to get some papers signed at our new apartments and I spent the time helping Hermana Hughes get the "going home" booklets put together for our 14 young missionaries who will be leaving us in 4 short weeks.

We chose an Argentina Steak House.
The House of Beef! Everyone enjoyed their steaks and my chicken was wonderful. As usual, it was a great evening and we were able to unwind after a busy week.
Saturday and General Conference!!! We look forward to this weekend for 6 months. We are 3 hours ahead of SLC so our first session started at 1pm. We spend the morning getting the laundry done and Elder Thompson made 2 berry pies, one for us and one for the Hughes. Then we settled down to enjoy the first session. Between sessions we took a walk. It is so wonderful to be able to listen to our General Authorities and feel peace and hope to go forward with faith.
The afternoon session held a surprise for us. Whenever there are releases and new people called to serve as a General Authority, we listen carefully to see if we know anyone from our missions. Well, this time it was a family member that we recognized. My cousin, Jan E. Newman was called to be the 2nd counselor in the General Sunday School Presidency.

What a thrill to see him walk to the front of the Conference Center and take a seat behind the prophet. Wow, a direct descendent of Hyrum and Jerusha Smith is a new general authority.
Well, time to get this sent off. We love serving with these young missionaries. They have such wonderful spirits and they have a love for their Heavenly Father. Just pray that we can help them to realize that to have His spirit with them at all times, a clean and orderly home can be a great blessing! We are still waiting for a day without a water leak! Maybe next week.
