We loved Conference. We are always so excited for it to come, then it is over. Can't wait for the Liahona to come so we can sit and feast on the words again.
Tuesday evening we were invited to have Family Home Evening with a family that we met at the Capilla Abierta in their ward. The Rius family, parents and adult son, invited their non-member friend to attend. Selva is a very loud, animated person. She just loves Elder Thompson. He tells her that she is a "dry Mormon" because she really lives the gospel but hasn't agreed to be baptized yet. She is about our age. We watched a video about the Plan of Salvation and Elder Thompson tried to answer some of her questions and help her to understand the need for baptism. We had a nice supper of sandwiches, hot chocolate, and banana bread. It was a very nice evening. Selva asked when we would be leaving. When Elder Thompson told her that we had a year yet, she said that perhaps we would be able to attend her baptism after all. We are sure that we will be spending more time with these special people in the near future.
We took care of a few service calls this week. Elder Thompson loves being able to get out of the office and work with his hands. It is nice when we can save the mission some money by doing these little things ourselves. It also gets us into the apartments to see if the missionaries are taking care of things and keeping a clean apartment.
We were privileged to attend the temple on Thursday morning. So thankful to have a temple so close. It is always fun to see the Wallace's and the other temple missionaries.

Oh, how we love our families! We miss you and love getting pictures and emails. You are always in our thoughts and prayers.
Friday evening we headed back to the Chinese Restaurant LinLan. The food there is great and the service is wonderful. Our waitress from our first time there remembered us and greeted us with hugs. Adriana is from Venezuela so she and Elder Thompson love to visit about the places that they both know.

Saturday afternoon we decided to visit the park that is just around the corner from us and go to the museum that is in the park. As we walk by or drive by this park each day, it is always busy with Zumba classes, karate classes, picnics ect. It is really big.
With all the palm trees, we just can't see it getting that cold this winter but a jacket felt real good today as there was no sunshine.

There was an event happing in the park today. It was kind of like a health fair. On the stage in the back people lead exercise groups and they had booths set up selling all sorts of health foods and products.

Booths selling a huge varity of produces, even hemp bread, drinks and vitamins and cannabis breads and other products. We decided that we would not buy anything to eat here!
When we finally made it to the "museum" it turned out to be three rooms, one was a display of Coca Cola products over the years and two rooms of paintings! What a disappointment! But an adventure just the same. We had a nice stroll through the park, ended up at a Little Ceasar's for pizza, went shopping for some heaters for our pensions and our apartment. Winter is coming here!
