Sunday morning we left early so we could meet the Hermana's in the Alicahue Zone by 9:00. They will take the materials to their ward council meeting today for us as we need to be in the Grecia Ward to present our power point about Capilla Abierta's. With Capillia Abierta's scheduled for the 23rd, 24th, 30th, and 31st we will have to have the young missionaries help to get everyone trained and ready for their ward's turn. I played the piano again for the Grecia Ward. They have a hymn practice just before Sacrament meeting begins. I got to play a hymn I had never heard before! Luckily it was not a hard one. But it was fun to be able to play again.
Monday morning we took Elder Gonzalez to the DMV for his second driving test to try and get his license. He didn't pass the first time because he went 5 miles over the speed limit during his drive. This time he passed with flying colors and will now be able to run some of the errands that need done for the office and we won't have to. We made it to the Nunoa Zone by 11:30 to present them with the Cleaning power point and the Capilla Abierta power point. Then we had to take the truck out to be serviced. Our wings are now clipped until we get the truck back. It could be a long week stuck in the office.
And it is Saturday again! The time just flies for us. We didn't get the truck back until Friday evening at 7:30. We didn't get much done in the field but had to handle everything from the office. Wednesday morning Elder Hughes took Elder Thompson to look at an apartment that we just got repainted and put in a new kitchen because of bugs, worms, cockroaches, ect. It was gross! The contractor did a good job with the painting but left all of the old cabinets on the patio and told the Hermana's they could use them for storage. We took them out because they were in such horrible shape. So we had to do some phone calling to get the contractors back to finish their job. We decided to call on a few others and make sure that the garbage had been hauled off from their remodels and sure enough, this same contractor had not hauled off the garbage from them either.
We spent the week in the office except for this one trip. We set up appointments with the missionaries for next week to get more of the ojo majico's put in. We only have 9 to go. We tied to go to the temple on Thursday afternoon. We walked home from the office, changed and went out to catch a taxi. In the mornings and evenings there are taxi's everywhere waiting for someone who needs a ride but we found out that at 4 in the afternoon there are no taxis around. We truly miss the temple and will be excited to go next week.
Our date nite supper ended up being at a little Italian restaurant just around the corner from the office because the traffic was horrendous and we had to get the truck picked up at 7:00. Not a good choice! Won't be going there again. We ended up being a half hour picking up the truck due to the traffic and it took about an hour to get home. It will be great having the truck back so we can make the visits that we need to do this coming week.
Saturday morning we walked down to the office to pick up some raspberries that we bought yesterday and put into the frig at the office and stopped at our little market for some eggs, potatoes and carrots. After baking a razzelberry pie, blackberry and raspberry, we went to lunch with the Hughes. We drove up the hill behind our apartment. This area is very well to do.
We went to eat at Wally's Burgers and Fries. It was a truly American burger. Then we went to do our grocery shopping for the week. Being stuck in the office all week went better than we had thought but it will be good to be out among the young missionaries again this week. You are always supposed to look for the positive in every thing so the positive for this week was that I didn't have to go through any tunnels!
Well, we are ready for a new week. We have three days filled with appointments and the other days will fill up as the week progresses. We are truly being watched over by angels. We are enjoying our service here. You are in our prayers always. Have a wonderful week. Hopefully we will have more photos next week as we won't be stuck in the office this week. We send our love
