We were able to golf 10 days in the month of April, and a couple of those days we probably should have stayed inside. But we enjoy the exercise. It is so much more fun than just walking around the four mile block and walking 9 holes is about 4 miles, depending if you stay in the fairway or no. One day we were the first ones to the course and when we finished we were still the only ones on the course. Haven't had to remove the hats, gloves, or coats yet, maybe next month.
Deb was in town so we decided to take Connie out for a birthday lunch and we were able to get all of us together on the 5th, a couple of days early but it seems like you have to have a reason or else you just don't get together.
We met in Hazelton so that Connie could come from work. Always so much fun to be with my sisters and Mom.

On the first Monday of each month, I am attending a support group with Blanca at the Office of the
Aging at CSI. Larry has been diagnosed with dementia and early stages of alzheimers. I can definitely state that Mom doesn't have either of these. I am learning so much and understanding what it takes to be a care giver to someone that is struggling with these diseases. My heart just aches for Blanca and what she is going through. As you see the struggles of others, it makes you so thankful for your good health. Lon and I are truly blessed with our little aches and pains and for the most part, our brains are still functioning!
On Saturday the 8th, we met up with Tracy and his family at the IHOP to have breakfast and celebrate Ashton's birthday. I can't believe that I didn't get a foto of us. Ashton is now 13. He got a new bike as he has outgrown his old one.
We had our annual Temple Devotional on Sunday the 9th. I was asked to sing with a group for the special number. What a great experience. There were 14 ordinance workers in the group. Sister Toni Hendrickson directed us. We sounded awesome. So fun to be able to share our talents with others.
Chandler and Ashton are playing soccer and they are both on the same team, what a tender mercy. Each Monday of the month we were able to watch their games and the last two Saturdays of the month also.

On the 24th, we arrived at the soccer complex in a rain storm. Just as the game started, the rainbow came out and the rains stopped and Chandler made a goal. Sarah and Ashton weren't feeling well so we picked up Chandler and were there to support him this evening. With Tracy at Post for 10 weeks we try to be there to help Sarah and the kids whenever possible.
Our ward had a breakfast to celebrate Easter. Lon helped cook the sausage, eggs, and pancakes outside on the grills.
The weather cooperated and the wind wasn't very strong. The kids enjoyed an Easter-egg hunt. I did dished the whole time to keep up in the kitchen. We had a huge turnout, people that I had never seen before, and ran out of eggs and sausages. Lon took off at 11 to golf with Tracy and the boys and I walked home after the cleanup was finished. It was the first beautiful day we had had and the walk felt so good.
We subbed at the temple 3 days this month. We went to dinner with Maria and Ysidro Gonzales and with the Orr's.
On the 28th, we attended a softball game for Riley at Kimberly High School. It was one of those cold, windy, rainy days that made you wonder why you had left the house at all.
We went to the back of the field to have the wind at our backs. Riley played the first game with the JV team and had a great game, even hitting a home run. The second game she played with the Varsity and only batted but got 3 hits and a couple of RBI's.
Shayla, Justin and Gideon came down to the game. Gideon showed up in shorts. He crawled into the chair bag to get out of the wind. Kyleigh is in the blue blanket.
Saturday morning the 29th we watched Chandler and Ashton win their last soccer game of the season. Their team took 2nd place. Then we headed to Kimberly to watch Mason play baseball.

Mason even got to pitch an inning. He usually plays center field. As you can see, the weather was so much better than the day before. We watched 3 softball games, one baseball game and a soccer game from 4pm on Friday till noon on Saturday and then went to sub on the Saturday pm shift at the Temple. We are looking forward to a quiet Sunday.
We had just sat down to dinner when Chan called to let us know about a Court of Honor that was not well advertised but both boys were getting awards and Dad had to leave for Boise so we headed to Twin.

Of course you are supposed to give your Mom a hug afterwards, something boys this age don't like to do in public.
Chandler also got several merit badges and the rank advancement to a Life. He only has his Eagle Project left to get his Eagle. He was very happy that his leader hadn't gotten the Mother's pin so he didn't have to pin it on or give the hug.
Now we headed home and had a couple of hours to enjoy a quiet Sunday before time to go to bed.
I have a new saying to share to my grandchildren. When things get hard remember that
"There is no growth in the comfort zone and no comfort in the growth zone."
You can do hard things because you are never alone. Your Heavenly Father loves you and is always there to help and support you. Grandpa and Grandma also love you and are always here to help and support. Be happy and enjoy the journey of life. We love you
