We went to Tracy's house on the 2nd to help build a closet for Chandler's room. He sleeps in the den so there are built in shelves but no closet. Tracy took out the shelves and Lon helped him frame in and sheet rock a closet. Lon then put on some texture. We spent the 4th watching Chan play his last basketball game and then went over to get some sanding done on the closet and final texturing done so that Sarah can paint. It turned out very nice.
Just when we thought that we were finally done with the snow, we got dumped on yet again. We woke up to about 4 inches of new snow on the 7th of March. It was so depressing, but it didn't last too long as it was a very wet snow and the temperatures have warmed up to the 50's during the day.
Deb and Doug are getting ready to hit the road again for work and Grandma Reid has wanted to got to Star to see their new house so we took off on the 10th with her to visit them. The weather has turned nice again and Lon is hoping to get in a golf game in Boise.
Deb invited Shayla and Justin to lunch before they all went golfing.
The weather was a little windy, but these four had a great time golfing. Spring is here, we think!
Hailey came over before her shift at the hospital and Mom, Debbie, Hailey and I had a wonderful visit while the others were on the golf course. We came home the same day and Mom was very tired but happy. Now when Deb talks about her house, Mom can visualize it. It was a fun day.
I got another levi quilt ready to tie. This one is going to go into the camper. It is just the right size for the bed, but a little big for the room to tie it in.
I had just enough room on the closet side to tie the first three squares and then roll it to keep going. It took me the rest of the month to get it completely finished. We are now prepared to go camping, but nothing is planned until the first week of June. With the amount of snow we have gotten this winter, we are hoping that we will be able to get to the mountains by then. Lon spent Saturday the 11th cutting wood with George.
Riley had a double header on the 18th and Lon was working with George cutting firewood so I went to Kimberly to watch her and visit with Shayla and her family.

Of course the boys didn't watch too much of the game as they were off playing so I guess that is why they didn't look as cold as the girls. Riley's team won both of the games. I came home frozen!
We have been wanting to take out a tree that is on the east side of our house. It is actually in our neighbors yard but it is very dirty and limbs keep being blown down and hitting the power lines. George and his crew came on the 20th to take it out.

Lon was busy trying to clean up the limbs so that the boys could load the trash ones to be taken to the dump.

When they finally got the tree down to a stump they came in to eat. The boys really were starved. I fixed enchiladas and salad and everyone seemed to enjoy them.
A good sized trailer full of wood. It was not dry so it was very heavy. So thankful that I didn't have to help. Cutting firewood is a very tough job. Lon worked with George about another 3 days and finally told him that he was done. It is just too hard of work and you take the chance of getting hurt when you are 67 years old. It is just not worth the risk. We enjoy golfing and serving in the temple and don't need an injury to put an end to what we really like to do.
On the 24th, we picked up Chandler and Ashton and headed to the temple.
It is spring break for the boys. Lon and I went golfing with them on Wednesday morning and then on Friday morning they did baptisms for the dead with Grandpa doing the baptizing. It was cold and windy but these three decided to go golfing again that afternoon. I had to take Mom to get her hair done so I wasn't able to go with them.
March Madness has been fun with Lon and Ginger betting on the games. Lon has tried to keep up with the NCAA and the NIT for both boys and girls. That means we tape a lot of games and try to find time to watch the important ones. I think we will all be ready for a break from basketball when it is over.
On the 29th we got up and went golfing and then headed to Utah for a Missionary Reunion. We drove to Farrell and AnnaVee's to stay for 2 nights.
On the 30th we headed to the Payson Temple to meet up with our friends from our Guatemala Mission and attend a sealing session with them with President Burk doing the sealings.

Then the 11 of us headed over to President Burk's house for lunch.

President Burk took this one. We had a wonderful day. We were able to catch up on everyone's life and even on a few others who weren't able to attend. The highlight of course was being in the temple with them and remembering our service in the Guatemala City Temple.
We took time to stop and visit with Los Walls after the reunion. They live very close to the Burks. They served with us in the El Salvador Temple. So fun to get caught up with dear friends that we shared two years of our life with. We feel like Alma when he met his friends, the sons of Mosiah and rejoiced that they were still his brethren in the Lord. So wonderful to reconnect with people that we shared so many ups and downs with.
Lon and Farrell were able to go golfing on Friday morning and AnnaVee and I played with her great-grandchildren that she takes care of.
AnnaKay's daughter Kayanna is having some very serious health problems and has to go to the hospital every evening for IV's and is then so tired that she has trouble taking care of the kids alone. AnnaVee has them all the time.
Kingston is 18 months and into everything. Aaliyah is 4 and loves to sing and dance.
Aaliyah kept putting on her princess dresses so that I could take her picture in them. She can repeat the Pledge of Allegiance word for word. They are so full of life. Poor AnnaVee is exhausted but keeps going as there is no other option right now. The doctors want Kayanna to move to a lower altitude to see if that will help her heart. She is going to move to Seattle in June so hopefully it will help and AnnaVee can catch her breath.
We ate lunch and then headed for home. We got home about 9pm.
March has been cold and windy but it has gotten warmer every day. We are looking forward to April as it should be better golfing weather.
It is hard to believe that on the 17th Lon celebrated 9 years since his heart attack. We are so thankful for our health and that we are able to golf and serve in the temple and in our ward. So as we begin a new month, here in the Thompson home All is well, All is well.
