The first 3 weeks of April were spent getting ready for the "Lamb of God" production. We have been going to practices once a week for the last few months and now we have 2 or 3 practices a week. With our temple schedule, we didn't make it to all the practices, but we work on the music at home. It is exciting to be part of this endeavor. The orchestra grew with each practice. Carson and Sue know so many people that they just ask for whatever instruments they need and seem to get it. We got Lon a new black suit coat and I borrowed a black blouse and jacket from Barb. Our dress rehearsal was on the 18th.
Lon is the second one in on the right-hand side in the middle row. Jay Jensen is beside him and Russ Howell is the fourth one in. Soloists are in the front row. This was the hardest music Lon has ever tried and he stuck with it and really enjoyed the performances.
We opened on Friday morning, took a good nap and were in place at 6pm for our first performance. We were all so worried that no one would come. We put this on for the community and it was held in our Stake Center. We were so shocked when people that we knew came into the building. Many of these people were very vocal about their dislike for the "Mormons". We were thrilled to see their love for their Savior. The chapel and gym were filled for the first night. We hustled home and got to bed as we had to open on Saturday morning, the 20th. Again, had a good nap and were in our seats by 6pm. Our second night's program was even more amazing. The spirit was so strong. We are so thankful that we were able to be part of this choir. We had members from all over the area, Jerome, Wendell, Hazelton, Twin Falls and Burley, with members and nonmembers. The building again was full. We even had some who came both nights! It is an amazing piece of music and a marvelous celebration of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are filled!
We tried to get to Eisley's track meets this month, but every one of them conflicted with our temple schedule.😞 She did great and even made it to state in the long jump. Really good for a sophomore. 
We had our annual Temple Presidents Devotional on the 28th. Lon had to conduct but I didn't have to talk at all. It was a great evening with our temple family. How we have come to love these amazing people. This calling is the hardest "mission" we have been on, long hours and stress, but it is so rewarding.
Hopefully schedules will be better next year.

Lon's Uncle Keith Thompson passed away and his funeral was on the 30th. Keith, 96, was the last of Willis' brothers and sisters. His wife, Phillis, 94, is still alive. She is the last of that generation of aunts and uncles on the Thompson line. We went to the funeral and then had to leave before the dinner to get to our shift at the temple. We visited with many before the service but were sad to have to leave. 
We had 5 from our family in attendance. Craig, Lynn, Kurt, Farrell, and Lon(we had already left)

We paid for our funerals and got our wills updated this month. Hopefully it will make things easier for our family when the time comes.
April was a busy month. I'm getting tired just reliving it. We love our Savior Jesus Christ and the opportunity to serve in his Holy House. Life is good.
