November 2024

 Wednesday, November 1st, Lon had a doctor's appointment, so we went to Twin at 10:30, had breakfast at Denney's and then went to the Temple for our pm shift.  We always love being on the Spanish night shift.  The Spanish members haven't been coming very regularly but hopefully that will change now that the harvest is over. 

We had Friday off so Lon and LaRon went fishing.  It wasn't a good day for "catching".  Lon didn't even get a bump on his line.  I visited with Mom.  Saturday was supposed to be our day off also.  We attended the 1:05 session and while we were there, President asked us if we would come back and close so that the Taylor's could attend their Stake Conference.  We grabbed a bite to eat at Idaho Joe's and were back to the temple by 4:30 so the Taylor's could get to Burley for their conference.  We got home around 10pm.  

Sunday the 5th we had a Shift Coordinator meeting from 6-9pm.  It went very well, and we all learned from each other.  These shift coordinators are the cream of the crop, and it is so wonderful to get to serve with them and get to know them.  We are so blessed to be able to serve in the Twin Falls Idaho Temple.  We love this opportunity to serve together in this important work to help our Heavenly Father link families together forever.  

Lon was thrilled to be able to golf on the 10th, 13th, 14th, 15th, and 22nd with just a sweatshirt.  The 23rd we woke up to 4 inches of snow.  I think he is done for the year!

This has been our doctor month.  Lon went to the dentist on the 6th.  I went to the eye doctor on the 7th, mammogram on the 17th and Lon had a colonoscopy on the 20th. Good reports back from each visit!

Sharon came to town to visit the week of the 13th.  She will stay with Connie.  I am sad that I won't be able to spend much time with her as this is our big week, 3am shifts and 2pm shifts.  After our TLC meeting on the 16th, we went to the care center to visit with Sharon, Mom, Connie and Judy.

As we were leaving the house for Lon's colonoscopy the morning of the 20th, Raul came over to show us what the wind had done to our roof the night before.   

We had 60 mile an hour gusts of wind on Sunday.  The exhaust from the gas fireplace had created moisture and rusted the nails so this section of eve trim blew off.  

Nothing was missing so Lon was able to put it back together again

LaRon came over on Wednesday morning to help hold everything in place as Lon got it nailed up.

We had Wednesday and Thursday off so we were able to get some baking done for Thanksgiving.  Lon made blackberry, apple and pecan pies.  I made the coconut cream.

We had Shayla, Justin, Ryanne, Aydan, Sarah, Tracy, Chandler, Eisley and Tom (exchange student) come for dinner. 

 We enjoyed turkey and all the favorite foods of a Thanksgiving feast.  And of course, we all ate way too much.  We watched some football and visited.  It was a wonderful day.  It snowed on and off all day, dropping about 4 inches in all.

We served as ordinance workers on the Friday am shift.  It was so fun to not be in charge and just get to do the ordinances this morning.  We attended the 11:05 session and came home.  Lon watched some football while I went to visit with Connie, Sharon and Mom again.

Sunday we went to Mom's right after church to visit with Doug, Debbie, Hayley. Connie, and Sharon. 

Sharon had asked for a blessing from Lon and Doug to calm her for her flight home.  It was so good to be able to visit with her.  She flew home on Monday.

We had the rest of the month off, (Tuesday and Wednesday), so we did some temple work for our family, Wednesday evening with the Spanish sessions and Thursday after our TLC meeting.  We got our Christmas letter written and packages sent to Ashton and Gideon.

Both boys look great and seem to be enjoying their service.

And the month of Thanksgiving has come to an end, but we are continually thankful for our health, our families, our friends, our calling, our Savior Jesus Christ, and especially for our new little great granddaughter.  Life is good!
