New month and new schedule to get used to. In order to get the new schedule started, we opened on Tuesday morning, closed on Wednesday night and were off on Thursday, however Thursday is now our day for our TLC meetings (Temple Leadership counsel), so we were in the temple again. Then the new schedule really began with our having Friday and Saturday off. The schedule goes like this: 3 days open, 2 days close, Sunday and Monday, 3 days close, 2 days off, Sunday and Monday, 3 days off, 2 days open, Sunday and Monday and back to 3 days open. This will definitely take some time to get used to. I am having trouble remembering what day of the week it is and what time of day it is.
Drew and Karen came to town on Friday the 4th. We visited for a little while but had to get to bed as we open on Saturday morning. They will be spending most of their time in Twin with their girls and granddaughter. Saturday morning was busy. Lon had 3 brothers all receiving their endowments at the same time. We had an abbreviated veil and another own endowment and some training to do. It was a fun morning. We got home and took a nap because we have another class reunion to go to this evening.
Lon graduated from Valley High School but attended school in Jerome for 10 1/2 years, so he always gets invited to the Jerome Class reunion also. Most of the class doesn't even remember that he didn't graduate with them. We had a nice dinner at the Jerome Golf Club and enjoyed visiting with people Lon hadn't seen for years.

We got home around 8 and Drew and Karen got back about 9. We visited but Lon and I were so tired that we had to call it an evening around 10. They were gone before we got out of bed on Sunday morning. We didn't get to see much of them, but they enjoyed being with their family. Had a great nap after church!
On Monday the 7th, Lon and George went fishing at Magic with the pontoon boat. They had a great time.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on mornings. We were busy each day but still tired from last week, so we actually had to have a couple of naps. On Thursday we walked to the fairgrounds and went through the booths. We ran into friends that we haven't seen for a long time; Phil Ellis and the Pathals. We had good visits and then walked home. We had planned on eating there but nothing looked good, and it was so hot we came home and ate and got to bed early.
Friday and Saturday we are on nights. They are our late nights with the 8:15 session on Friday and closing up after everyone leaves on Saturday (no cleaners).
Sunday the 13th, we left after Sacrament Meeting and headed to Payson, Utah for Frank Wall's 80th Birthday Party. He and Diane served with us in El Salvador. They were so surprised to see us. We had a very nice visit. The theme was the 50's. Frank and Diane look good. So glad we were able to come.

We were going to drive back to Mindi's for the night, then back to Farrell's on Monday morning so the men could golf, but we were so tired. We drove to Orem, got a motel and crashed. Monday morning Lon and Farrell golfed with two of Farrell's friends at a course called "Timpanogas." Lon says that it is the toughest course he has ever played on. It was hot, slow, and probably lost at least 10 balls. After a lunch of soup and sandwiches, we headed for home. I had a wonderful visit with AnnaVee. She is slowly recovering and more like herself every day.

At least another year
We golfed Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, then headed to the temple. We are on the PM shift these first three days of the week, then off Friday and Saturday. The temple was busy, and the hours went by so fast. We love it when we are kept busy.
On Friday we picked 6 gallons of blackberries at the Ridgeway patch south of Jerome. The berries are so big and beautiful. It only took us an hour to get these and got them into the freezer for pies and salads. On Saturday morning, after golfing, we picked up 114 ears of corn from Cody Bingham and spent the rest of the day getting the corn into the freezer.
Sunday morning, Lon, Jeff Stoker, Mike and Mathew Bingham sang an arrangement of "Master the Tempest is Raging" in Sacrament meeting. They did such a wonderful job and really added the spirit to our meeting. It was a lot of hard work, but I think each of them really enjoyed this opportunity. We had our quarterly Shift Coordinators meeting this evening. It lasted for 3 hours but everyone seemed to enjoy our discussions and we all learned from each other. These people are so amazing. It is such an honor to serve with them in the temple.
On Monday evening the 21st, we went to the viewing for Thomas Bingham, one of our ordinance workers who passed away. This is the bad part of this calling. We get to know and love so many people and then have to watch them struggle with problems, physical and emotional, and attend many funerals.
Our 3 days off, but we subbed for the Harris's on Tuesday morning. Lon fished on Wednesday, and we had our TLC meeting on Thursday. Now, 2 days of early morning. Friday and Saturday mornings went by so fast. We were super busy and loved each day. Our Stake Conference was this weekend. We love going and being spiritually fed by our Stake leaders. It was a wonderful conference. Elder Homer of the 70 was our visiting authority. We truly had a spiritual feast!
On Monday, it was our turn to visit the Monday Cleaning Crew at 8:30 and share a message with them and let them know how much we appreciate their service. They do the deep cleaning each week and any repairs that need done.
We finished the month off with our 3 days of early mornings. This new schedule will be ok, but it really keeps me guessing what day of the week it is. The weeks go by much faster also. And August has come and gone. It was a very hot month with little rain. We have finished one year in our temple presidency calling. It has been a year of learning, growing, laughing, and loving. We serve from 9-to-11-hour days and are so thankful for this opportunity in our lives. We pray that we will be able to stay healthy as we begin our 2-year mission in the Twin Falls Idaho Temple Presidency.
