On the 2nd of September, we sold the camper. We haven't had the truck all summer so haven't been able to even use the camper and in reality, haven't missed it. We emptied it out, leaving a few things in it for the new owners to use as we have no need for them.
On the 3rd, Mindi and Justin came in. Justin will head to Kuna to help his parents pack up more things. They are moving to Utah. Mindi will stay here to help us with the corn.
The 4th was corn day! We got a little over 200 ears of corn from Cody Bingham and Mindi, Tracy, Lon and I had our work cut out for us.

Mindi and I ran to Twin Falls to meet Mother at the eye doctor's to get her glasses straightened. Shayla and Justin arrived about 3:15 and we headed to the golf course for a quick 9 holes.
Mindi is just starting to play again and of course I play croquet so Justin had to be really patient. It was almost 100 degrees but we had a great time.

We went to Idaho Joe's for supper. It is so wonderful to be able to spend time with our children. They have grown into such amazing adults.
Saturday morning we went golfing again with Mindi. She is getting better each time we golf. Justin arrived about 2 and they headed for home.
We started the week out normal, golfing every morning and Lon and George fishing in the afternoons. Then on Thursday Lon and LaRon (Lon's cousin) took off on a 4-wheeler ride.
They headed to Boulder Basin. They weren't able to get all the way in because of rocks and water on the road.
They also went to Baker Creek but the roads were all closed so they didn't get too far. They ended up going 42 miles and the weather was perfect.
Friday morning, the 11th we loaded up and headed to Utah to stay with Mindi and Justin and to attend Lon's 50 year mission reunion.
With the help of our GPS we arrived at Mindi's without any trouble. The saying goes that Utah has two seasons, winter and road construction. We definitely were in the road construction season!
This was the hardest course I have ever played on. The distance between each hole was a very long walk, not a good course to walk but we did it!
Lon, Mindi and I headed to The Ridge to golf. The course is only 15 minutes away from Mindi's house.
That evening we went out to eat with Justin, Mindi and Hannah. The girls went to one restaurant for soup and sandwiches while the men went next door to the Hot Dog Restaurant. Everyone was well fed.
Saturday morning Lon and I drove to The Oak's Golf Course and met Carl Lesueur. He and Lon enjoyed (or endured) 18 very slow holes. It took almost 6 hours to complete their round. I spent the day in the car reading and waiting for them to finish because it was an hour from Mindi's house. We got back to Mindi's and changed and headed to the 50th Colombia/Venezuela Mission Reunion, It was held in the back yard of one of the former missionaries.
Lon was thrilled that so many of his former missionary companions and friends were there.

We were fed a very nice meal and had a program. It was a very nice evening full of reminiscing and renewing friendships.
We had a wonderful Sabbath with the Parkers. It was so humbling to watch our two grandson's bless and pass the Sacrament for us as we had our Sacrament Meeting in their home. Mindi helped all of us participate with the Sunday School Lesson. We played a game, watched a movie, and ate LOTS of great tasting food. Oh, how we love spending time with our children and grandchildren.

Monday morning the 14th, we again met Carl Lesueur, only this time at the Mountain View Golf Course.
Carl and Lon were companions in Colombia.
While they golfed, Mindi and I took a drive around the Oquirrh Mountain Temple and the surrounding neighborhood. We stopped to take a walk around the man-made lake. It is a beautiful neighborhood.

We had a great weekend with family and friends and drove home Monday afternoon.
Tuesday the 15th of September = 15 year breast cancer survivor.
Lon began driving in the early beets on Tuesday the 15th. He only had to drive for 4 days and then will have 3 weeks before the full harvest begins.
On the 18th, Farrell and AnnaVee, Kurt and Linda, and Craig and Robbie came to town for a brothers golf day. I had them all over to the house for lunch after their round. It was great to sit and visit and catch up on their lives. Lon got home about 7pm. Saturday morning the 4 brothers were able to golf again. This was the first time we have all been together since we got home from our mission in March because of the covid-19. And I didn't even take one foto😖!!
The week of the 21st was a busy one. I had to lead the Relief Society Discussion on line and I had my first funeral to prepare for. I am in charge of the funeral dinners, Bob Robinson passed away. He was the bishop when I was the Relief Society President. The family told us to plan on 75 for the dinner. With the covid we only served 40 as many couldn't come. We had so much food left over. Everything really went well. I got to play the prelude and postlude. It was a wonderful tribute to a great man. It was also a long day with the set-up and clean-up.
On Saturday the 26th, George and Kim invited us to go on a little ride with them. We packed lunches and headed north. We drove through Carey, Arco, Mackay, and ended up in Challis visiting with Ron and Jane Bloxham, who just returned from their mission in Alaska.

We ate our lunches in Challis and came home through Standley, Ketchum, and Shoshone.
It was a windy day so it was a perfect day to be on a drive and not trying to golf or work in the wind.
Sunday morning Jordan Jackson and I sang "I Know that My Redeemer Lives" as the opening hymn in the 9:30 and the 11:00 Sacrament Meetings. It sure felt good to be singing again. Jordan's voice has matured so much.
We have been able to actually enter Serenity Care Center and meet with Mom in a conference room. We both have to wear masks but we can sit and visit face to face. It has been wonderful. But on the 26th she has again been put on shut-down so we have to visit on the phone at her window again.😢
We have canned some salsa and spaghetti sauce. And another month has come and gone. Our nights have cooled off nicely but our afternoons continue to heat up into the low 80's. We are having a wonderful fall so far.
