Monday was a rat race here in the office as the Elders and Hermana's settle into their new companionships and apartments and assignments. Transfer weeks are always hectic. We had to talk to the new missionaries that arrived last week. We didn't get the power point done in time so we just brought our filters for our washer and dryer from home to demonstrate. We spent the rest of the day getting the photos and reports on the inspections from Saturday into the computer and assigning contractors to do the work that needed done.

They are going to California this Thursday for the wedding of their son. We will miss them.

Tuesday morning was spent in the office again and since we had everything caught up, we headed to the temple about 3. We got there too early to do anything. They close after the 12:30 session and don't open again until the 4:30 session. We enjoyed the session then did some family sealings. It is always a spirit lifter to attend the temple.
Wednesday morning we finished up our inspections of the 74 pensiones! We did a few repairs in each as we inspected them. We always take the Zone Leaders with us on the inspections. I had to do something and handed the iPad to them to hold. When we got to the office to transfer the pictures to the computer, we discovered their selfie.

Now we can concentrate on needed improvements and repairs. We have 2 being painted now and 4 others getting new carpet installed. These pensiones have been neglected for a few years. We are still trying to find a replacement pension for one that really is not fit to live in but so far nothing.
Thursday we did a service call and repaired an armoire, how about a little French in a Spanish country? Their wardrobe was falling apart so we went and got it repaired. Then we had to take the Hughes to the airport to catch their flight. I hadn't remembered the tunnels! We had almost 3 miles underground, came out into the sunlight for about 2 minutes then right back down for another mile. I do not like those "subways" "tunnels" that you have to drive through. This one was really long going to the airport and coming home. We will have to drive down there again next Friday when the Hughes return.
Friday morning we got a call that a cupboard had fallen down. This was in the pension that we want to get rid of. All I could think was that they had no cupboards!
It was a free standing cupboard that they kept their food in that had collapsed. The Elders love to use Elder Thompson's tools and try to do some of the repairs.

With the Hughes gone, we will have to be close to the office. We were only gone about an hour and a half and got back in time for the office Elders to go to lunch.
Saturday has been our first real p-day. We had nothing scheduled and got to sleep in, get laundry done, cut hair, make a pot of chile and Elder Thompson even made a peach pie for our Sunday dinner. It really felt good to be able to just chill for the day.
We have found quite a few words here that are not used in Central America. For example: a strawberry is not a fresa here, it is a frutilla, and corn is not maiz but choclo. We are trying to learn a whole new Spanish.
