September just kind of came and went way fast for us. Our Temple service kept us busy. We subbed for the Nickels on the AM shift on the 1st. We then took Ashton to the temple on the 2nd to do some family baptisms.
Chandler was out of town so Ashton got to do all of the baptisms and conformations for family members that Hannah had found for us. It was a wonderful morning with Ashton in the temple. We then met up with Tracy, Sarah, Annie and Eisley for breakfast at Denney's.

Labor Day, Monday the 4th, we made halibut casserole and zucchini bars and headed to Larry and Blanca's for lunch. We also took over some produce from the garden. We had a very nice visit and got home about 4:30.

I subbed 4 out of the 5 Fridays at the temple, 2 AM shifts and 2 mid shifts. On the 8th, Lon served on the AM shift and I served on the Mid shift. Saturday the 9th was Lon's turn to serve and he had a live sealing at 11 and then we served till 9. It was a very long day but we loved it. With all of the turmoil and problems going on in the world, we just love to walk in the temple doors and leave it all behind and spend time with spiritual matters.
We canned some salsa and spaghetti sauce from the tomatoes off of our 4 plants. We have picked all of the green ones and should have enough for another batch of each when they ripen.
Our Jerome 2nd Ward Choir has been assigned to sing for Stake Conference. We got a 3 week notice! Thank goodness we have some songs that we have done this year to choose from. We are going to sing "More Holiness Give Me" with Jennifer Yost on the cello and "Reverently and Meekly Now" to the tune of "Jesus Savior Pilot Me"
We went to breakfast on the 16th with Maria and Ysidro Gonzalez. Lon had a 4:00 Leadership meeting and then we attended the 7:00 adult session of Stake Conference. It was great. Right after, we practiced with the choir so they could get the feel of the different seating for tomorrow. We ended up with 20 men and boys and 23 women and girls. The Sunday session of conference was wonderful and the choir couldn't have sang any better. What a fun group to lead. They follow and sing from their hearts. Came home and had lunch then headed to Idaho Falls. We spent the night with Karen and Drew in Rigby. We had a great visit. Monday morning we met with the nutritionist to see if our bodies are responding to the vitamins that we are taking. We met up with Frank and Pauline Price for lunch. Frank is still in a lot of pain but seems to be getting around better. Pauline loaded us up with carrots, onions and tomatoes from her garden. I canned 12 quarts of vegetable soup with her carrots and onions, adding potatoes and celery.
Lon started driving beet truck on the 21st so I am working at BZ Plumbing for him on Thursdays.
Our Primary Program was on the 24th. The kids did a great job, especially with the singing. Jennifer Yost does a great job getting the most out of those little voices.
Lon finished the early beets on the 29th so he has a few days off before the run begins again.
Our month ended with the Saturday sessions of General Conference on the 30th. We look forward to this weekend every 6 months.
The weather has turned to fall, with the nights getting into the 30's and 40's. The leaves on the trees are all turning colors. We helped George get the potatoes all dug in the garden. Summer is gone and we hope for a beautiful fall. But then only time will tell.
Thompson Life is full of football and temple service. Life is good!
