 Happy Fourth of July Month!!  We started the month out not feeling great but by the 4th, we were both finally well and ready for the month.

Lon and Tracy went golfing the morning of the 4th, and after I visited with Mom, we went to Tracy and Sarah's for a BBQ.  The food was great and the company excellent.  We came home early as it is Monday and we have to be up early for our temple shift.  The fireworks and firecrackers have been going on for a few days already so we are hoping that we can fall asleep as they go off all around us.  We did get to sleep, and the fireworks continued for several days after the 4th.

Lon has been working on getting his boat ready for a test run and he and LaRon did just that on the 7th.  They took it to Magic Reservoir and found that they have a few kinks to take care of.  Sharon arrived this evening to spend a few days and be with Mom for her 90th birthday.  The only problem is that we left the morning of the 8th for Utah.  She will be on her own till we return on Sunday.

We drove to Orem to visit with Farrel and AnnaVee.  AnnaVee had fallen and broke both of her wrists and is recovering after surgery at a Rehab Center in Orem.  She is really doing good.  Her spirits are high, and Farrell is able to be with her all day to help and learn what to do as she is preparing to go home.  We had a nice visit and then headed to Justin and Mindi's home in South Jordan.  We are headed to the Hale Family Theatre tomorrow to see another production there.  After supper, we watched the movie "Singing in the Rain" so Lon will understand what the production is about.  He has never seen it before.

Saturday morning, we headed to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple to do sealings with Mindi, Jacob and Hannah.  Justin won't be home from his business meeting till it's time to head to the theatre. We had a wonderful time and then went to breakfast.  We don't get the opportunity to be in the temple with our children and grandchildren very often, so we really cherish this opportunity.

 Then Jacob and Hannah took us out to see their new home that is under construction.  We are so excited for them, but it will be several months before they get to move in.  The Hale Family Theatre did not disappoint!  The Production of "Singing in the Rain" was wonderful.  They even figured out how to have an actual rainstorm on stage, during the song and dance Singing in the Rain and at the end of the show.  The four of us really enjoyed every minute of it.

We went to church with Justin and Mindi and then headed home.  We drove straight to Serenity Care Center to wish Mom a Happy 90th Birthday.  Sharon and Chandler were there.  Chandler had gone to Jerome and picked up Sharon and the two of them had attended church with Mom.  Mom was so delighted to introduce them to her nurses and friends.  She really looked good today.  

Sharon and I did some shopping and visited with Mom on Monday and Tuesday afternoon.  It was so nice to have her here again.  I had to take her to the Twin Falls Airport at 4am on Wednesday morning to catch her flight to Salt Lake City.  It was sad to see her go, but she will visit with her daughter Brigette for a couple of days before she flies on to Colorado.

Lon subbed 3 times this week and I was supposed to twice, but I woke up on Friday morning with a vertigo attack so I didn't get to go.  Lon and LaRon went to Salmon Falls Reservoir to fish on Friday.  Lon thought he had really caught a big one as he reeled this in

Gene Van Wagoner came to town on the 20th.  Junior Robinson wouldn't go golfing with us.  He is really going downhill fast.  His memory is not great, but his equilibrium is so bad he can hardly stand up.  He is finally using a cane to walk.  We feel so sorry for him.  Golfing really is what he is living for. Junior did go to dinner with us on the 22nd.  Gene left early Sunday the 24th.  I'm afraid that these golf trips are probably coming to an end.  Gene and Junior are almost 89.  Norma wouldn't come this year, so I know her trips are finished.  

We had no training on the 25th so it was a good day to make our apple pie filling.  We ended up with 21 quarts.  It's nice to get some of the canning done before we begin our fulltime service in the temple.

I was thrilled to spend time with my childhood friend, Barbara Fuller Chester, on the 28th.  We went to lunch at a Mexican Restaurant in Buhl and then checked out a few antique shops.  It was such a nice, lazy day.  We celebrated Barb's birthday and just enjoyed each other.

July came and went so fast this year.  It's been a very hot month, in the high 90's daily and not cooling off below 70 at night.  We have tried to golf between 7 and 7:30 in the mornings so it's not so hot.  We have been doing a little baking for our family reunion and are looking forward to that next month.  One month before our new "mission" begins.  Hello August!
